Meet Dave, the owner and head trainer of K9 Obedience Unleashed. Since he was a child, he has had an unwavering love and passion for dogs. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dave served in the Navy for nine years before transitioning to a career as a defense contractor for fourteen years. He climbed the ranks to become the Manager of Production Operations while simultaneously earning a bachelor’s degree in business management.
A man who had spent his life chasing and achieving career goals decided to leave his 9 to 5 job to pursue helping dogs and their families live their best lives. Prior to making this decision, he had already helped train many of his friends’ dogs and his own in the past. He continually increased his knowledge of dog behavior and training through books and training events/courses. Although he had extensive knowledge of dogs and training, he had never trained professionally. Upon leaving his 9-to-5 job, he became an independent contractor for a dog training company. While there, he went through their training and became certified to their standards. Additionally, he learned the business side of dog training.
It is important to Build Relationships With the Clients
Dave took time to listen to his clients’ feedback on what they liked, disliked, and how to improve the training process for both their dogs and themselves. This resulted in building strong relationships with them, prompting him to establish K9 Obedience Unleashed. The business was founded with the ideas and opinions of past clients in mind, with the aim of enhancing the lives of both dogs and their families through companionship, freedom, and mutual respect. Outside of work, Dave enjoys golfing, surfing, hiking, riding his motorcycle, and spending quality time with his loved ones.
